According to a survey on retail shopping conducted by Rakuten Insight in June 2021, approximately 33 percent of the respondents in Thailand, who planned to shop less frequently in physical stores even after the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, stated that they tried to avoid crowds as they were afraid of catching the virus. On the other hand, around 13 percent of them stated that they preferred to use a combination of in-store and online shopping.
