In the third quarter of 2021, consumers in Germany spent more than 699 million U.S. dollars on mobile gaming apps. By comparison, entertainment apps saw users in the country generating approximately 43 million U.S. dollars. In the most recently examined quarter, food and drink apps saw 20 percent fewer revenues compared to the previous quarter. In 2020, mobile app services experienced relevant increases in user engagement levels and consumer spending as a direct consequence of the global coronavirus outbreak.
