U.S. downloads of selected mobile app categories Q3 2021

In the most recent measured quarter, mobile gaming apps generated approximately 1.16 billion downloads from users in the United States. Shopping apps downloads in the country decreased by approximately five percent compared to the second quarter of 2021. In the same period, downloads of sports apps increased by roughly 10 million compared to the second quarter of 2021, reaching 40 million.

By August 2021, YouTube was one of the most popular mobile applications in the U.S., averaging almost 167 million unique monthly visitors.
