Mining companies contributed nearly 70 percent to Tanzania's government revenue collected from the extractive sector in the financial year 2018/2019. This corresponded to a value of around 183 billion U.S. dollars. Oil and gas companies added 28 percent to the total revenue collected, while service provider companies had a share of four percent.
