In 2021, Worldpay estimated that digital and mobile wallet payments accounted for 29 percent of total transactions in physical stores worldwide and will further increase to 39 percent by 2024. Mobile wallets had the highest market share in the Asia-Pacific Region, accounting for approximately 40 percent of POS payments.
