In 2019, nine out of 10 most polluting North American airports were U.S.-based. Los Angeles International Airport was the most polluting airport in the region, with some 15.3 million metric tons of CO2 emissions. The second place was taken by New York JFK, with 12.9 million metric tons of CO2.
