The price of electricity in Finland showed an increase in September 2024, amounting to 56 euros per megawatt-hour.
In 2021 and 2022, electricity prices soared throughout Europe, the combination of a myriad of factors. These included heating demand due to cold winters, a rise in natural gas and coal prices, and a decline in wind power generation due to low wind speeds. This resulted in a nearly four-fold increase in electricity prices over the course of the year.
