According to a survey on retail shopping conducted by Rakuten Insight in June 2021 in India, 48 percent respondents above the age of 55 years stated that they spent less on average and shopped less frequently than before the COVID-19 pandemic. Three percent of the respondents between the age of 16 and 24 years stated that they spend the same amount but shopped more frequently than before the pandemic.
