According to a survey on retail shopping conducted by Rakuten Insight in June 2021 in India, 41 percent of male and 45 percent of female respondents stated that they spent less on average and shop less frequently than before the COVID-19 pandemic. Only a small percentage, six percent of both male and females, reported than they spend more and shop more frequently than before the pandemic.
