Purchasing power of the average wage expressed in cigarettes in CEE 2012-2021
In 2021, Slovenian residents could buy 270 packs of cigarettes with one month's salary. This is the highest amount among the listed CEE countries. Romanians were able to buy the least number of packs of cigarettes per net monthly salary. In most of the countries of the region, the purchasing power decreased in comparison to 2012. The fiscal policy (e.g. excise taxes) of each country had a significant impact.
