According to a survey carried out in 2021, 18 percent of Brazilian respondents agreed that their country should be more open to accepting refugees than before the COVID-19 crisis. Around 55 percent of Colombian and Peruvian respondents stated their country should be less open than before the pandemic to accepting refugees. Overall, more than half of Argentinians agreed that refugees would successfully integrate into their new society.
