In 2022, mining and quarrying added 15.4 trillion Tanzanian shillings (TZS) to Tanzania's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This corresponded to around 5.9 billion U.S. dollars. The mining industry has been increasing its contribution to the country's economy since 2015.
