In 2020, four African countries had different legal vehicles to address the violence motivated by sexual orientation. These countries were Angola, Cabo Verde, Chad, and Sao Tome and Principe. Worldwide, 48 countries foresaw criminal liability for offenses committed on the basis of sexual orientation, including African countries.
