Although SAF production is quite low, this market is expected to expand, with the projected production capacity of HEFA-based SAF reaching 4.2 million tonnes by 2025. Hydrotreated Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA) is the hydrogenation process of vegetable oils, waste oils, or fats into SAF.
