In 2021, mineral rents in Ghana as a share of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) were close to 5.2 percent. In the preceding year, mineral rents represented roughly 2.2 percent of the GDP. Moreover, within the observed period, the share was highest in 2011, when the rents reached around 5.5 percent of Ghana's GDP.

Minerals included in the calculation are tin, gold, lead, zinc, iron, copper, nickel, silver, bauxite, and phosphate."
