People with asthma or allergies Spain 2012-2020

It was estimated that, in 2020, around 4.3 million people aged 15 and older in Spain had been diagnosed with chronic allergies, the equivalent to 11 percent of the population analyzed. Meanwhile, approximately 1.6 million individuals in the country had received an asthma diagnosis. These figures portray a decrease in comparison to 2017 data. However, it is not yet clear to what extent the estimates were affected by the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Previous figures had shown an increasing trend on both asthma and chronic allergies.

Data for 2012 was obtained between 2011 and 2012.

The sample size provided corresponds to the European Health Survey carried out in 2020.
