During a 2020 study fielded in Latin America, 27 percent of respondents in Argentina said the media had the most power in that country. In countries like El Salvador and Venezuela, the share stood below ten percent. The percentages in Chile and the Dominican Republic were both below the regional average. However, Chile reported the lowest level of trust in the media in Latin America, whereas the Dominican Republic recorded the highest trust level.
