A new type of competition

In terms of types of download video apps worldwide, YouTube is still one of the most frequently downloaded but has been outranked by TikTok and Netflix. Despite other video apps becoming more widespread, in Germany people still spend around 11 hours a month on YouTube, proving that the platform is still attractive to viewers. Furthermore, YouTube is still responsible for over 11 percent of global internet traffic.
