The Skikda refinery in Algeria had the highest distillation capacity in Africa in 2020. Owned by Algeria's state-owned company Sonatrach, the refinery had a total capacity of 462 thousand barrels per day. Libya's Ras Lanouf refinery, owned by the country's National Oil Corporation (NOC), had a distillation capacity of 220 thousand barrels per day in the same year.
