As of mid-December 2024, Disney+ was the highest-grossing mobile app published by The Walt Disney Company, with around 1.22 billion U.S. dollars of in-app purchase revenues generated by users worldwide. The ESPN: Live Sport & Scores app ranked second, with 223.8 million U.S. dollars in revenues across Google Play and the Apple App Store combined in the examined period. ESPN became a subsidiary of Disney in 1996, thanks to the purchase of its previous parent-company Capital Cities/ABC.
