In 2020, there were about 387 thousand female patients in their twenties undergoing treatment for depression in South Korea. The number of women with depressive disorders has increased sharply since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially among those in their twenties and thirties. Compared to 2019, the number of women in their twenties with depression has increased by nearly 40 percent.
