According to a global survey, payroll expenses accounted for a quarter of art dealers' total costs in 2021, stable over the previous year. Meanwhile, art fairs made up 18 percent of the total expenditure in 2021, denoting an increase of three percentage points from 2020.

It was also distributed by Art Basel directly to over 425 individual galleries who participated in their shows in Basel, Miami Beach, and Hong Kong and through OVRs in 2021".
