Distribution of art dealers globally H1 2021, by market
A July 2021 survey focused on the different types of art dealer businesses operating in the global art market in the first half of 2021. According to the study, only one percent of surveyed primary market dealers were online-only businesses, whereas 16 percent of dealers in the decorative art and antiques sector adopted an online-only business model. While 41 percent of decorative art and antique dealerships utilized galleries with exhibition space, nearly nine in ten dealers in the primary market did the same in the first half of 2021.
