In 2020, around 0.8 percent of the global merchant fleet in terms of capacity was dismantled worldwide. While it is projected that in 2021, this share will drop to 0.2 percent, it will increase again in 2022. In 2022, it is expected that about 0.6 percent of all merchant ships will be dismantled globally.
