In 2021, a significant share of consumers in the United States planned to increase their spending for the upcoming fall and winter holidays. For example, over a third of early holiday shoppers intended to spend more money on Christmas this year. About a quarter of those surveyed planned to do the same for Halloween and New Year's Eve.
