Travel and tourism spending share in European countries 2023, by type

In Europe, leisure spending represented the highest share of the total travel and tourism expenditure in 2023. That year, Croatia was the European country where leisure trips generated the highest contribution to travel and tourism spending, accounting for 95 percent of the total expenditure in 2023. Meanwhile, business trips in Slovakia represented nearly 42 percent of total travel and tourism spending in the country that year.
