In 2020, around 32 percent of all operations on vehicles were performed by the vehicle's car owner or driver. This was the highest do-it-yourself rate compared to other countries, including Germany, the U.S., and China. Such operations exclude simple tasks like changing a vehicle's wiper blades or adding windscreen washer fluid.
