South India accounted for the largest share of installed cement production capacity in financial year 2023, at nearly 37 percent. North India had the second-largest production capacity of cement in the country that year, at a distant 18.6 percent.

The figures have been calculated using the installed capacity figures in million metric tons provided by the source. The source did not clarify the financial year to which the figures apply in the 2024 release of the data. FY 2023 was assumed due to other figures present. India's financial year begins in April and ends in March. For example, FY 2021 started in April 2020 and ended in March 2021.
