According to a 2021 survey conducted by the Fight Inequality Alliance in India, 97 percent of respondents agreed that there should be an increase in funding to support services which are aimed at preventing gender-based violence. Only one percent of respondents disagreed with this sentiment. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, an increase in violence against women has been reported in the country.
