Opinion on making public distribution system (PDS) universal in India 2021

According to a 2021 survey conducted by the Fight Inequality Alliance in India, 87 percent of respondents agreed that the public distribution system (PDS) should be universalized. This would mean that all individuals would have the opportunity to access free rations unconditionally. Currently, only ration card-holders are eligible for the scheme.
