Opinion on expansion of Ayushman Bharat insurance coverage in India 2021
According to a 2021 survey conducted by the Fight Inequality Alliance in India, 87 percent of respondents agreed that the Ayushman Bharat insurance coverage should be expanded to include a larger proportion of beneficiaries and a coverage amount increase from 500,000 Indian rupees per family to one million Indian rupees. Only seven percent of survey respondents disagreed with this sentiment.

This is the national public health insurance fund for low- income earners, while also providing free secondary and tertiary healthcare.
