Passenger revenue of JR Hokkaido Shinkansen in Japan FY 2016-2023
In the fiscal year 2023, Hokkaido Railway Company's (JR Hokkaido) Shinkansen high-speed trains generated around 9.11 billion Japanese yen of passenger revenue, increasing from 6.87 billion in the preceding year. The Hokkaido Shinkansen was partially opened in 2016, running 148.8 kilometers between Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto-Station and Shin-Aomori and bridging Japan's main islands Hokkaido and Honshu via the undersea Seikan Tunnel. The completion of the remaining section leading north to Sapporo is due by March 2031.
