Number of beneficiaries of COVID-19 support measures in Iceland 2020, by industry

From March 2020 to December 2020, the Icelandic government offered financial support for individuals hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. People working in the accomodation and food industry was the largest beneficiary group, with 7,778 recipients. The wholesale and retail sale industry had the second largest number of beneficiaries. The 477 recipients in agriculture, forestry and fishing was the smallest beneficiary group. The number beneficiaries corresponds well with the amount allocated to each industry.
