According to a January 2021 global survey of smartphone users, with the exception of France and the United States, all examined countries reported high shares of people using the main public messaging apps for mobile work communications. Approximately 84 percent of surveyed users in Brazil reported using WhatsApp or a similar instant mobile messaging platform to communicate with colleagues, customers, or suppliers. By comparison, in the United States and in France, the most used work communication channel on mobile was the e-mail.
