Changes in use of words related to love during COVID-19 in India 2020
A 2020 survey conducted among Indians aged between 18 and 35 revealed that the linkage between love and certain negative words saw an increase during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the use of 'difficult', 'anxiety', and 'frustrating' spiking by respectively 25 percent, 20 percent and 15 percent. On the other hand, positive words associated with romance witnessed a noticeable decline in usage, such as a respective 14 percent and 23 percent drop for 'chemistry' and 'being together'.
