At the end of the fourth quarter of 2022, the value of net assets of regulated open-end funds worldwide was highest in the Americas. Net assets of mutual funds in the Americas amounted to a value of over 20 trillion U.S. dollars, while those of exchange traded funds (ETFs) and money market funds amounted to a value of approximately 6.7 trillion and five trillion U.S. dollars, respectively. The value of net assets of mutual funds and ETFs were second-highest in Europe, at around 16 trillion and 1.3 trillion U.S. dollars respectively. The value of net assets of money market funds was second-highest in the Asia Pacific region, at approximately two trillion U.S. dollars.
