Share of Hindus opposing interreligious marriage in India, by political inclination
According to a survey conducted by the Pew Research Centre from November 2019 to March 2020, 72 percent of respondents with a favorable view of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) opposed interreligious marriages of women from their community. By contrast, only 57 percent of who did not favour the BJP opposed intermarrying of women from their community to marry into a different religion.
