In April of 2021, about 60 percent of consumers in the United States had been visiting physical grocery stores. In contrast, less than 55 percent of surveyed shoppers in the U.S. had done in-store grocery shopping over the summer of 2020. In August of that year, some 30 percent of respondents shopped both online and offline for food and other groceries.
