Glencore has some of the most ambitious greenhouse gas emission reduction targets among mining companies in the world, with stated plans to reduce their total emissions by 40 percent by 2035 as compared to the company's 2019 emissions. Additionally, Glencore aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
Glencore's Scope 3 emissions (emissions along the value chain) amounted to approximately 342 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent as of 2020.
