As per a survey result released in July 2021, 44 percent of China's high net worth individuals stated that their biggest pain point about domestic asset allocation was capital market fluctuation. Another important concern was a declining return on investment of all asset classes.

HNWI are persons whose investable assets value at more than 10 million yuan.
The source did not specify the number of respondents in 2021 survey. The number of interviews conducted in previous years ranged between 700 and 3,300 and between 100 and 200 for in-depth interviews. The interviewees mainly included industry experts, relationship managers from private banking and other financial institutions, HNWIs from but not limited to private banking.
