In an online survey in the United Kingdom from September 9, 2021, it was determined that the public opinion on having the FIFA World Cup every two years instead of every four years generally tended towards leaving the cycle as it currently is. Across every age group of soccer fans, the majority of respondents strongly opposed the idea of the World Cup taking place every two years instead of the customary four years.
