Sabine Pass is the largest operational export terminal for LNG in the United States as of 2024, with an annual nameplate capacity of some 29.5 million metric tons. The terminal is located in Louisiana and is also the largest operational LNG terminal by capacity worldwide. Cheniere Energy, Sabine Pass' owner, has proposed to expand capacity by some 20 million metric tons.
