As of May 2023, the number of Facebook users in South Africa increased slightly, reaching just over 30.7 million users. Compared to the previous month, this was an increase of over 500,000 users. Since January 2021, the social media platform users in the country have been following an increasing trend until the beginning of 2022. On the other hand, the number of users dropped dramatically in January 2023 to 23.5 million users. Overall, there were more than six million new joiners over the 29 months observed.
