In 2022, repurchase agreements were the most common assets held by taxable prime money market funds in the United States. These assets made up 45.2 percent of the total net assets that year. The second-largest share of total net assets in 2022 was composed of commercial papers, at around 25.5 percent. This was followed by certificates of deposit, which made up 25.3 percent of total net assets.
