According to a survey of smartphone users conducted between December 2020 and January 2021 in ten markets worldwide, almost five in 10 respondents preferred receiving business communications via email. Both SMS and WhatsApp were favored by 25 percent of respondents each, while only 12 percent of respondents reported claiming Facebook Messenger as their first choice. Social video platform TikTok was favored by nine percent of the surveyed smartphone users, despite not being a traditional messaging channel.
