Following a government crisis in October 2024, a snap election was called for November the same year. The Left-Green Movement, which received the third highest share of votes in the 2021 election and which the former prime minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir represented has lost most of its support and is currently set to receive less than four percent of the votes.
