In 2019, French cognac brand Hennessy took up more than 38 percent of China's total brandy sales value. Though Chinese brandy manufacturer Changyu contributed to nearly 50 percent of China's brandy consumption volume, it only made up 3.7 percent of the total sales value due to its low unit price.
