Leading banks in Ghana 2023, by total assets
As of 2023, Ecobank Ghana was considered the leading bank in Ghana by assets weighted in December 2021. The amount reached nearly 2.92 billion U.S. dollars. The other leading banking service providers, Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) and Absa Bank of Ghana, registered assets of approximately 2.1 billion (in 2022) and 1.7 billion U.S. dollars (in 2022), respectively. In June 2020, GCB achieved the highest number of branches in the country.
