According to a survey on subscription video-on-demand (SvoD) conducted by Rakuten Insight in June 2024 in Malaysia, among people who did not subscribe to SvoD services, 50 percent of them considered subscribing to these services too expensive. Meanwhile, 32 percent of respondents stated that their reason was because they could access the preferred shows on other channels for free or cheaper.
