Main commodity exports Philippines 2023, by FOB value

Electronic products were the leading export goods from the Philippines, with a freight on board (FOB) value of about 42 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. This was followed by other manufactured goods, with export value of about four billion U.S. dollars.

 What electronic products are being produced in the Philippines? 

With a total export value of around 1.48 billion U.S. dollars, semiconductors accounted for about half of the total goods exported from the Philippines. These products, sometimes referred to as integrated circuits (IC) or microchips, are used in many electrical appliances, consumer electronic products, and even in trains and telecommunications infrastructure. Apart from semiconductors, the electronics industry also produces electronic data processing products such as hard disk drives, consumer electronics, and automotive electronics. Overall, the electronic exports in the Philippines reflected gradual growth in recent years, apart from the decline in 2020.

 Major trade partners for electronic exports

Asian countries, primarily Hong Kong, China, and Singapore, were the main destinations for electronic exports from the Philippines, primarily for semiconductor components and devices. Meanwhile, the United States and Thailand were the major trade partners for hard disk drives and other electronic data processing products produced in the Philippines. Other destinations for electronic exports were Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea.
